Hospitals overview

Hospitals have an integral part in the training of surgeons. Trainees complete clinical placements at accredited hospitals, working through a range of competencies to progress their training.

Many surgeons take part in audits in order to learn from their own and others' experiences of certain types of cases. Research is also important in the development of new procedures and techniques.

Training Post Accreditation

Hospitals must apply for accreditation to ensure the training post will offer the trainee a suitable range of experiences during their time at the post.

Trauma Verification

Trauma verification is a multi-disciplinary inter-collegiate process to assist hospitals to analyse their systems of care
