Prof Alistair Royse is a Cardiothoracic surgeon at Melbourne Private, Royal Melbourne and Western hospitals. He is in senior leadership positions in the Department of Surgery and the Melbourne Medical School, The University of Melbourne.

He is an international leader in the field of the exclusive use of arteries without the use of veins in coronary artery bypass grafting. This leads to greater survival and quality of life. Additionally, he undertakes complex aortic surgery and pacemaker lead extraction surgery.

He is an internationally recognised surgical academic.
