Dr Christopher Kennel
Overview
My family and I moved to New Zealand from the United States in 2022 to give our children a broader world view and for a more sustainable lifestyle.
I received my doctorate of medicine at the University of Colorado and core otolaryngology training at the University of Missouri, then completed an advanced otology fellowship with Michael Teixido in Delaware. Because allergy impacts many ear, nose and throat conditions, I completed a fellowship with the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. I am a diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology--Head & Neck Surgery and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
I have family members with signigicant medial issues, so my heart goes out to people who are seeking medical advice and treatment. I know what it's like to have a loved one experience a challenging surgical recovery and struggle to contact their surgeon for advice. That's why I give my mobile number to my surgical patients.
There aren't enough doctors in New Zealand, so I try to treat patients fully, even for conditions that some ENTs may avoid. I'm also training the next generation of ogolaryngologists to help increase the surgical workforce in New Zealand. I have both public and private practices.
