Prof Alkis Psaltis
Overview
Dr Alkis Psaltis is a professor at the University of Adelaide and the current Head of Clinical Services in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide, Australia. He manages all adult and paediatric conditions with a special interest in sinonasal and lacrimal disorders as well as anterior skull base surgery.
He completed his training in Adelaide, being awarded his FRACS in 2011. Following this, he completed three rhinological and endoscopic skull base fellowships in NZ and the USA. These were at the University of Auckland, NZ, the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina and most recently, Stanford University, California. He has a strong research interest having completed a PhD studying the role of biofilms in CRS in 2008.
He has published over 160 peer reviewed articles, 16 book chapters and has delivered over 120 talks at international and national meetings. He is on the editorial board of 5 major ENT and Scientific Journals and holds several board position in the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and the Australian Society of Head and Neck Surgeons.
