Dr Paul Cheng

Overview

Dr Paul Cheng is a Specialist Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgeon now practicing on the Gold Coast, QLD and in Ballina, NSW.

 

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, and raised in New Zealand, Dr Cheng’s academic excellence was evident from an early age.  He graduated with top honours from the University of Auckland, earning the Senior Prize in Medicine.  After completing his medical degree, Dr Cheng completed further specialist training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery across New Zealand, culminating in his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2022.

 

Dr Cheng offers a broad spectrum of procedures, including skin cancer surgery, aesthetic facial surgery, breast and body contouring, microsurgery, soft tissue hand surgery and trauma reconstruction.  He also has experience in Asian blepharoplasty and rhinoplasty.  His passion for delivering individualised, high-quality care is reflected in his thorough approach, from the initial consultation to the detailed post-operative care.  Dr Cheng ensures that each patient is fully informed and comfortable with their surgical decisions, emphasising safety and personalised treatment.

 

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Cheng is committed to advancing the field through education and mentorship.  He has published in respected medical journals and serves as a RACS examiner for the Part I Clinical Examinations.  He also works part-time at the Gold Coast University Hospital as Consultant Specialist Plastic Surgeon, mentoring the next generation of surgeons.  Dr Cheng's dedication to continuous learning led him to complete two ASAPS-endorsed fellowship with international experts, where he further honed his skills in aesthetic surgery.

 

Dr Cheng is an active member of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS) and New Zealand Association of Plastic Surgeons (NZAPS).
