Dr Steven Kahane
Overview
Dr Steven Kahane is a Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon with fellowship qualifications from both Australia and England. He specialises in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery. He can offer either an anterior or posterior surgical apprtoach to the hip, and regularly performs robotic assisted joint replacement. He performs soft tissue knee surgery (meniscal surgery/ ACL reconstruction/ patella tracking issues) and has extensive experience in general orthopaedic trauma.
Dr Kahane undertook specialist orthopaedic training in London on the prestigious Percivall Pott training Programme. After completing six years of specialist orthopaedic training and completing the Fellowship examinations from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, he undertook a one-year Australian Orthopaedic Association approved Fellowship on the Gold Coast. He then undertook the specialist recognition pathway through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and was successful in the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Fellowship exam.
Dr Kahane has been working as a consultant surgeon at the Gold Coast University Hospital, Robina Hospital and the Varsity Lakes day hospital since February 2019. He is married with two Australian-born sons.
He holds the title of Senior Lecturer in Orthopaedics at Griffith University & Assistant Professor at Bond University. He will offer his patients the latest and the best advice on how to treat their condition so as to maximise their quality of life.
