Dr James Laban
Overview
Dr James Laban is a highly respected and experienced dual-certified consultant neurosurgeon and spine surgeon. He specialises in state-of-the-art spine, brain and peripheral nerve surgery, using minimally-invasive techniques, robotics and computer-guidance.
He was Director of Neurosurgery at St George’s University Hospital, London, one of the world’s largest teaching hospitals and neurosurgical centre of excellence. He was appointed Honorary Professor in Neurosurgery for his international work before moving to Australia in 2018.
He now lives and works in Sydney with rooms in Double Bay and North Shore Private Hospital.
Interests include advanced surgical techniques for cranial tumours including glioma, glioblastoma and metastases, trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm and microvascular decompression, spinal tumours, degenerative spine conditions and peripheral nerve surgery.
