Mr Benny Zhang

Overview

Mr Benny Zhang is an Australian trained Orthopaedic Specialist obtaining FRACS and FAOrthA qualification in 2020. He commenced his residency at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and was successful in gaining entry into the Victorian/Tasmanian Orthopaedic Training Programme (Australian Orthopaedic Association) in 2015. During his training, Mr Zhang published many original and review articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals.

 

Following completion of training, he pursued further skills in Pelvic and Arthroplasty surgery at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. The fellowship standard work included assessment, planning and management of complex pelvic trauma and revision arthroplasty at a Victorian Tertiary referral centre. Additionally, Benny is a senior lecturer at the The University of Melbourne, providing medical students with Orthopaedic lectures and tutorials. He is also an active participant in the VIC/TAS training bone school programme.

 

Benny's main interests in orthopaedics are in joint replacement surgery and treatment of sports injuries.

 

Outside of work, Benny is an avid skier having achieved an internationally recognised APSI Level III qualification in snowsports instructing. He is based at Mount Buller during the Australian alpine season and regularly travels to Japan and North America. He also performed with the Australian Doctors Orchestra in the position of Bb Clarinet.
