Prof Henry Woo

Overview

Henry Woo is a urological surgeon specialising in prostate disease.  He is Professor of Urology at the College of Health and Medicine at the Australian National University.  He is the Director of the SAN Prostate Centre of Excellence, Head of the Department of Urology as well as Deputy Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee at the Sydney Adventist Hospital.  He is also the Director of Uro-Oncology and the Professor of Robotic Cancer Surgery at the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.  Henry is at the forefront of clinical and technological advancements in the field of prostate disease.  He is recognised as being technically competent and confident with his participation in live surgical demonstrations and workshops both in Australian and abroad.  He has published his research extensively and has an international reputation for his work.  Additional to his passion for providing the best possible clinical care for his patients, he is vocal in his views on professionalism, the patient journey and patient advocacy. He is also passionate about clinical trials and bringing to Australia the latest evidence based treatments.  He is a Board Director of the Australiasian Urological Foundation (AUF) and a Board Director of the Australian and New Zealand Uro-genital and Prostate Cancer trials group (ANZUP). He is also an Associate Editor of the Nature owned journal Prostate Cancer and Prostatic Diseases and he is on the Editorial Boards of the journals European Urology, Prostate International, World Journal of Urology, PLOS One and World Journal of Men's Health.
