Dr Walid Barto

Overview

Dr Walid Barto obtained his medical degree at the University of Sydney before commencing basic surgical training at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle. He completed his general surgical training at St Vincent's Hospital and was awarded the Royal Australasian College Fellowship in 2009. He undertook additional training in colorectal surgery at The Alfred Hospital. Melbourne and at Westmead Hospital in 2010 as a fellow of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand. Dr Barto is a senior lecturer at the Australian National University and Head of Department of General Surgery and Subspecialty at the Sydney Adventist Hospital, the largest Private Hospital in NSW.

Dr Barto specialises in robotic surgery using the Da Vinci Xi robot and have completed over 370 robotic procedures for bowel cancer, diverticular disease and hernias.
