Margorie Hooper Scholarship
This opportunity enables the recipient to reside temporarily outside South Australia, either elsewhere in Australia or overseas, in order to undertake post-graduate studies, or for surgeons to travel overseas to learn a new surgical skill for the benefit of the surgical community of South Australia.
WG Norman Research Fellowship
Open to Fellows and Surgical Trainees, residing in South Australia and enrolled in, or intending to enrol in, a higher degree. The research must be based in South Australia and the topic should preferably have a trauma focus.
Pickard Robotic Training Scholarship for 2020
Pickard Robotic Training Scholarship for 2020 - Mr Gordon Pickard, who is a strong supporter of robotic surgery in South Australia, established this scholarship to provide training opportunities to SA surgeons to expand their expertise in innovative robotic techniques. It is open to RACS Fellows and Trainees, as well as other surgeons and non-surgeons, who are undertaking robotic surgical training and/or research. A total of $100,000 will be awarded to up to five applicants.

Justin Miller Medal
The Justin Miller Medal is in honour of Dr Justin Miller, a distinguished vascular surgeon, who came to occupy a prominent place in the SA surgical hierarchy. He was a clinical lecturer of Adelaide and Flinders Universities, consultant to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Repatriation Hospital, Modbury, Lyell McEwin and the Adelaide Children’s Hospital.
The medal is open to
- A Medical student attending a Medical School in South Australia
- A Junior Doctor, intern or Service Registrar and or Medical Officer
- A trainee actively participating in the SET program (including interrupted training for the purpose of undertaking clinical research)
- An IMG on a pathway to Fellowship or
- A Fellow who has obtained their FRACS within the last two years.
The clinical research work that forms the basis of the paper must have been undertaken in South Australia by the applicant in the last 12 months.

RP Jepson Medal
The RP Jepson Medal is in honour of Professor R.P. Jepson, a distinguished vascular Surgeon and an important figure in the history of the University of Adelaide Medical School.
The medal is open to
- A Medical student attending a Medical School in South Australia.
- A Junior Doctor, intern or Service Registrar and or Medical Officer
- A trainee actively participating in the SET program (including interrupted training for the purpose of undertaking research)
- An SIMG on a pathway to Fellowship or
- A Fellow who has obtained their FRACS within the last two years.
The scientific research / lab-based work that forms the basis of the paper must have been undertaken in South Australia by the applicant in the last 12 months.
