Developing a Career and Skills in Academic Surgery (DCAS) Course
Have you ever considered involvement with publication or presentation of any academic work? Then the 2024 DCAS Course is for you! With an extensive list of revered local faculty and several influential Association for Academic Surgery and international invited speakers, the 2024 DCAS course promises both an informative and engaging program.
About DCAS:
This course was created to help delegates understand the early stages of establishing a career in academic surgery and to broaden their network of experiences colleagues. The target audience of this course includes medical students, surgical trainees, research Fellows, early career academics, Younger Fellows and any surgeons with an interest in academic surgery.
Course Goals:
• To promote the positive, inclusive aspects of academic surgery
• To inspire and recruit potential academic surgeons
• To provide an insight into academic practice
The DCAS Course will be held annually on the first day of the RACS Annual Research Conference which will be held at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Melbourne on Thursday 13 November 2025.
