Surgical Skills Course Grant for Rural Junior Doctors

The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Rural Surgery Section is offering a grant to rural based doctors to support their attendance at a surgical skills course.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Grant an applicant must:

  • Be a junior doctor practising in rural or regional Australia or New Zealand
  • Be registered in the RACS JDOCs
  • Be a member of the Rural Surgery Section

Eligible Activity

The grant may be used for travel, accommodation or fees associated with undertaking a surgical skills course preferably offered in a rural or regional area.

Value

AUD $1500 (incl. GST).

Applicants are strongly encouraged to read the policy when preparing their application. All applicants must complete the application form (editable PDF), attach supporting documents and email complete applications to rural@surgeons.orgApplications for 2019 close on Monday 18 February 2019.

Selection Process

The grant recipient will be selected by a selection panel and their decision will be final.

Grant Conditions

The grant recipient will be required to provide a 500 word report to RACS within 2 weeks of completion of the course about their experience.
