The Find a Surgeon directory is a listing of active Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons who meet the requirements of the College's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program and have opted to be on the list. This list excludes retired or inactive Fellows.

 

The annual Convention Travel Grant - run under the auspices of the Perth Convention Bureau's Aspire Porgram - is open to all Fellows, Trainees and International Medical Graduates on the pathway to Fellowship. The grant offers the recipient the chance to broaden their networks and horizons and bring kudos to themselves, the College and the wider community.

The 2016 Convention Travel Grant consists of one $10,000 to assist in personal and professional development through attendance at a relevant international conference.

Eligibility criteria

Entry is open to all RACS Fellows, Trainees and International Medical Graduates on a pathway to Fellowship. Selection preference will be given to, but application is not limited to, Younger Fellows, Trainees and International Medical Graduates on a path to Fellowship who are pursuing, or hope to pursue a career in academic surgery in Australia or New Zealand.

Selection criteria

  • Nominate an internatjonal conference pertinent to your discipline or research. This conference may be attended up to 5 years after the travel grant is awarded.
  • List the reasons why this meeting should be held in Western Australia in the future, by providing detail on the local expertise and facilities in your field that could be showcased to delegates.
  • Advise how attendance at this conference would benefit yourself and RACS.
  • Provide a Curriculum Vitae and the names and contact details of two (2) referees who may be contacted.

How is your application assessed?

A selection committee nominated by the Executive Director for Surgical Affairs (Australia) including representatives from the Section of Academic surgery and the Education Board will undertake judging.

The grant will be presented at the RACS Annual Scientific Congress held in Brisbane, 2-6 May 2016.
