Foundation for Surgery John Loewenthal Project Grant

The Foundation for Surgery John
Loewenthal Research Scholarship was previously established in
honour of Sir John Loewenthal who served as President of RACS from
1971-1974 and was intended to promote surgical research.
In 2015 it was decided to change the
conditions of the scholarship to broaden its appeal, raise its
profile and increase applications. As a result, it was rescoped and
relaunched as the Foundation for Surgery John Loewenthal Project
Examples of clinical or research projects
which may attract funding include, but are not limited to:
- A surgical research project with definite aims and
- Funding of innovative service/s or piece of equipment. Expected
outcomes will need to be clearly documented
Who can apply
This grant offers funding over two years
for surgical initiatives. Applications are welcome from individuals
or groups wishing to undertake clinical or research projects.
Preference will be given to applicants
early in their careers
