The Graeme Duffy Memorial Prize was first awarded in 1993 in honour of Graeme Duffy who was the first established neurosurgeon in Hobart and created a State Neurosurgical Service.  He was appointed Hunterian Professor of the Royal College of Surgeons of England for his landmark paper on lumbar puncture.

The prize is open to all registrars and interns who present papers at the meeting.
