Starting private practice in Queensland
Beginning the journey into private practice as a surgeon can be a daunting task. If you have an interest or questions about private practice, a great starting point is the annual RACS Queensland Preparation for Practice Workshop. This weekend workshop focuses on the practicalities of private practice, including legal considerations, technology security, hiring and firing, and website do’s and don’ts.
It is also helpful to engage with private resources that will be needed for your private practice before you make the jump from the public sector. It is best to look for those with a knowledge of surgical practice and regulation. You may need to engage with many resources including lawyers, financial managers, insurers, real estate officers, staffing agencies, and software administrators.
Event Date: 16th and 17th March 2024.
Workshop will be held at Prescribe Practice Management in Newstead, Brisbane. Click here to register or please email [email protected] for more details.
Resources: Helpful local resources for Surgeons interested in private practice.
*These resources are not a recommendation by the college of surgeons and each person must do their own due diligence before engaging with private organisations.
