About this event
Open to Victorian medical graduates in the early years of their training who are interested in pursuing a career in surgery. ‘Developing a Surgical Career’ will be a one day conference aimed at junior doctors wishing to pursue a career in surgery. It will provide junior doctors/medical students with a vast amount of information relating to the RACS Surgical Education and Training (SET) Program, Generic Surgical Sciences Exam (GSSE) and JDocs Framework.
Issues on how to navigate the way through the surgical training application process, preparing for interviews, preparing for exams, knowing how to write a solid CV, finding a mentor and issues around bullying and harassment will be discussed. General information on surgical subspecialties will also be provided to give junior doctors/medical students an insight into a career in surgery.
