About us:
Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland. Specialist Medical Services include Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics. There are also a range of clinical services provided on a visiting basis from tertiary hospitals in Queensland. A new Cancer Care Unit provides care for local patients, with state-of-the-art equipment and services.
About the role:
The SSS/SS (Otolaryngology) assists the Director of Surgery, ensuring that Otolaryngology Services provided by CQ Health are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner. The position assists with the education and supervision of surgical trainees and other medical staff, medical students, allied health, interested community groups and nursing staff.
About you:
• MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Possession of qualifications and experience appropriate for registration as a Specialist in Otolaryngology in Australia. In general, this will require Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in the speciality of Otolaryngology or Evidence of commencement of RACS comparability assessment.

Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist - Neurosurgery
Location: Townsville University Hospital, QLD
Seeking applications from suitably qualified FRACS accredited neurosurgeons, candidates who will be obtaining fellowship in the near future are also encouraged to apply.
About the role
The responsibilities of the role require a well-trained general neurosurgeon. Independent surgical practice in routine areas of elective, acute and traumatic brain, spine, and peripheral nerve surgery is expected. Of most importance is the ability to work as part of a team and accept the advice and oversight of senior colleagues in a learning and development environment.
We undertake outreach outpatient clinics in Cairns and Mackay as well as provide outpatient and inpatient care through Townsville University Hospital. Air travel to outreach clinics is part of this role.
What’s on offer?
Permanent Full-time position (80 hours per fortnight). Hours per fortnight are negotiable.
The majority of commitment is to the public hospital, however additional private practice opportunities may be available.
Remuneration package of up to $536,916 p.a.
• Base salary range: $210,332 to $266,677 p.a. (L18-L27)
• 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
• Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary)
• Regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary)
• Motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,500 p.a.
• Professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave
