We are looking for an exceptional consultant in Thoracic Surgery to join our team within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS). 

 

SCHHS Salary includes: 
Base salary comprising of between $201.04 - $238.93 p.h.
VMO Fuel Allowance up to $2,350 p.a.
Professional Development Allowance up to $5,000 p.a.
Tier 2 payment based on on-call requirements.

 

A mandatory requirement of being employed as a Visiting Specialist with Queensland Health is that you incur ongoing private practice costs.

The opportunity 
Townsville University Hospital is seeking a dedicated and visionary Trauma Fellow to join our team on a temporary full-time position for 12 months.  The position offers a unique opportunity to combine clinical excellence with impactful research, with a focus on improving trauma care in regional settings. 

We serve as the Major Trauma Service for North Queensland, Our commitment to comprehensive trauma care spans prehospital and retrieval services, inpatient management, rehabilitee, and recovery. 

About the role 
This role offers flexibility for the right candidate wishing to pursue a concurrent position within their relevant specialty, with a minimum of 0.50 FTE required for the Trauma Fellow position. The Fellow will work closely with senior clinical staff, including the Trauma Clinical Lead, to deliver longitudinal care to trauma patients across the region. 

Key responsibilities include: 
Coordinated clinical care delivery for trauma patients. 
Dedicated research capacity focusing on regional trauma. 
Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and trauma education programs. 
Shaping health policy for regional trauma care. 

We are looking for a clinician who is eligible for membership in FRACS, FANZCA, FACEM, FCICM, or an equivalent speciality related to trauma care. 

What’s on offer? 
Remuneration package of up to $236,061 p.a. 
Salary range $129,583 - $182,106 p.a. (L4-L13) 
4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

About the opportunity 
Fixed Term Temporary 3-year contract. A minimum of 40 hours per fortnight is required, negotiable up to 80 hours per fortnight full-time. There will be opportunity to re-apply for subsequent 3-year appointments. Please note, a permanent substantive position as a Staff Specialist Urologist may be negotiable for the successful candidate. 

 

The successful candidate will be proficient across all aspects of general Urology. The department has a high workload and is well equipped for all open and laparoscopic procedures. Participation in an on-call roster is a requirement for this role.
