Overview
The Queensland office offers Fellows, Trainees and IMGs:
- representation to the Queensland State Government, the Australian Medical Association and other medical organisations on professional matters important to surgeons and surgery in Queensland
- communication of issues to and from College Council
- assistance with matters relating to surgical standards including monitoring relationships with hospitals regarding Building Respect Improving Patient Safety (BRIPS) program
- a local link to RACS activities and resources
- meeting venue and support for activities
- continuing professional development opportunities

A Fellow is considered active if they are currently involved in any aspect of surgical activity that involves the use of surgical skills or knowledge gained through their surgical training. This extends to and is not exclusive of medico-legal work, research or supervision of Trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates.
