Collaborative Hospitals Audit of Surgical Mortality (CHASM) of NSW
CHASM is a systematic peer-review audit of deaths associated with surgical care. The CHASM program has the support of the RACS NSW State Committee, the Clinical Excellence Commission (CEC) and the NSW health system. It is similar to the established audits of surgical mortality across other Australian jurisdictions.
About CHASM
The program is overseen in New South Wales by a committee of surgical peers that reports to the Minister for Health through the Clinical Excellence Commission (CEC).
