The Bongiorno Group recently announced its Women in Surgery Grant at the RACS Women in Medicine International Women’s Day breakfasts in Victoria and Tasmania. Supporting Victorian and Tasmanian women who are RACS surgeons or Trainees, the grant funds a variety of activities including conference participation, skills development, research, advocacy and mentoring.
The annual grant is newly established in memory of Tony Bongiorno who was a great friend to many surgeons and a pioneer promoter of gender equity in the workplace since the early 1970s. Tony was a founder of the Bongiorno Group who work with doctors across all areas of tax & accounting, financial planning, insurance and finance.
Celebrating 60 years this year, the Bongiorno Group is a proud partner of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) with a relationship that goes back to the 1980s. They actively contribute to events including Melbourne’s Preparation for Practice and supporting Fellows through initiatives including the national Bongiorno Younger Fellows Travel Grant.
