Applications are open for the 2025 Younger Fellows Forum.
The 2025 Younger Fellows Forum (YFF) will take place between 30 April and 2 May 2025 in Sydney Australia. The theme is Innovation, Precision, Excellence.
It will be 43 years since the first YFF forum started in 1982. The concept, introduced in 1980 by Professor Richard Bennett, was to acknowledge and encourage the contributions of younger Fellows to the College. The YFF selects 20 emerging leaders who are RACS Fellows within their first 10 years of Fellowship, from all disciplines of surgery. It aims to develop leadership and performance skills for new consultants to thrive within surgical workforce and become leaders within their communities.
The YFF brings together surgeons who are motivated in surgical leadership. Delegates are keen to engage in College discourse and RACS activities that set and uphold the standards for surgery in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. If you are a younger Fellow with these shared interests, we invite you to nominate for a place at the 2025 YFF.
The 2025 YFF will focus on innovations for surgery and improving personal performance to achieve excellence. We would like to acknowledge the support of industry leaders, whose contributions help sustain our program and support our future moving forward.
The three-day forum at the ASC will allow new Fellows to share ideas and experiences while discussing and debating current issues affecting surgical practice. It will be an opportunity to meet with Councillors and get a better understanding of College structures and processes. The forum will also provide an opportunity to contribute to College discourse and priorities.
We are fortunate to receive support from industry sponsors and personal pledges from RACS Councillors to fund this event. Our returning industry partners are Medtronic, Ramsay Healthcare and MIGA with some new sponsors. Thank you to our sponsors for their support.
