Overview

The purpose of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgical Science and Principles (PRSSP) Examination is to ensure that trainees are equipped with knowledge of the basic sciences relevant to Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery early in their surgical training.

This exam does not count for any part of the Fellowship Examination. Trainees selected prior to 2021 must complete this exam successfully by the end of SET 4. New trainee selected for SET in 2021 or later must complete the PRSSP Exam by the end of Early SET.

The maximum number of attempts at the examination is four.

Please note that registration for this exam closes at 11.59am (AEDT) on the closing date stipulated, late registrations will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Sitting the exam

Candidates are required to arrive at the examination venue at least 30 minutes prior to the examination start time with photo identification. This examination is delivered electronically.

Results

Candidates are awarded a result of pass or fail only for the examination. Results are available in the RACS Portfolio and via email approximately four weeks after the examination.
