Selection is based upon:
- your activity proposal including the expected outcomes and proposed costs of your activity
- your statements addressing your aspirations and commitment to pursuing a surgical career
- how the activity will help you towards a surgical career
- how you have contributed to or are currently contributing to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health or Māori health and how you will contribute in the future
- your commitment to inspiring, leading and mentoring other young Indigenous doctors to become future surgeons
The selection panel includes members of the Indigenous Health Committee and AIDA and may include members of the Board of Surgical Education, Prevocational and Skills Education Committee and Fellowships Services Committee. Mr Ian Davison is an observer.
Preference may be given to applicants who are members of AIDA.
Awarding
-payment is made directly to the recipient by 1 March in the scholarship year (following receipt of a valid invoice)
