Document-based Assessment
The first phase of the RACS specialist assessment process consists of a document based assessment.
The document-based assessment involves assessments by the RACS Clinical Director, IMG Assessment and Support and IMG Representative of the relevant Specialty Board.
The recommendations which may arise from the document-based assessment include:
- Not Comparable
- An interview to finalise assessment.
If an application is assessed as not comparable, the applicant will be recommended to undertake further training. No interview is required and the interview component of the assessment fee will be refunded.
The applicant may be eligible to apply for the RACS Surgical Education and Training (SET) program provided they meet the eligibility criteria. Further information about the SET program can be found in the link below.
