RACSTA survey
Since 2010 RACSTA has invited Trainees to participate in an end of rotation survey to address various aspects of the completed rotation.
RACSTA training evaluation survey
Between 2010-2020 all RACS Trainees who were in training for the current year were sent the RACSTA Training Evaluation Survey biannually to evaluate the recent terms or rotation. In 2021, this moved to an annual survey as RACSTA partnered with the Medical Training Survey (MTS) for Australian Trainees.
Since 2022, only Aotearoa New Zealand Trainees are surveyed by RACSTA, with the data analysed anonymously within RACS.
The results of each individual RACSTA survey (2010-2021) have been analysed within RACS and the distribution of results has been restricted to ensure confidentiality of the respondents.
The first five years worth of survey findings have been aggregated and detailed in a consolidated report (PDF 603.77KB).
This report is available for all Trainees to read (members only - login required).
Medical training survey (MTS)
Australian Trainees are invited to participate in the Medical training survey which is conducted annually by an independent third party, EY Sweeney and is anonymously analysed. Aggregated results are used to improve medical training in Australia.
MTS surveys and results are available on the MedicalTrainingSurvey.gov.au website.
For further information, read the MTS survey FAQS (PDF 935.74KB).
Data from the RACSTA survey and the MTS are anonymously analysed and used to inform the Specialty Training Boards about matters including education and training satisfaction, flexible training availability and acceptance, bullying and harassment and industrial relations issues.
The strength of this information is determined by participation.
Look out for survey emails, take the time to participate and make your voice heard!
