Speciality societies and affiliates
The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) is an umbrella organisation representing the interests of all Fellows in whatever specialty they practice.
RACS provides continuous professional development, training and accreditation for surgeons. There are nine surgical specialties in Australia and New Zealand being: Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.
Additionally, the specialties and sub-specialties are represented by their own societies or associations detailed in the links below.
